Young Man Fatally Stabbed in Downham – Police Hunt Attackers
Police were called at 11.50pm on Friday, 4 November, after a man was stabbed on Bromley Road, Downham. Officers, alongside London Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene to find a 21-year-old man suffering serious stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital but tragically died the following afternoon on Saturday, 5 November. Police believe they know his identity and have informed his next of kin, though formal identification is pending.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation. She said:
“We know there were several people in the Bromley Road area who either witnessed this incident or the events leading up to and after this incident. I would urge them, along with any road users who may have dashcam footage, to come forward and speak to police.”
At this stage, police believe up to three men attacked the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.
No Arrests Yet as Community Urged to Help
“A young man’s life is gone following another senseless act of knife violence,” DCI Allen added. “Please help us bring those responsible to justice by sharing any information you have.”
No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue as police work to piece together what happened.
