Man Stabbed in SE14 Before Explosion Rocks Police Raid
Police raced to Achilles Street, SE14, just before noon on Friday, 25 June, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers found a 41-year-old man with stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital where his injuries were described as “not life-threatening.”
Explosion and Fire in Batavia Mews During Police Operation
As police investigated, they tracked the incident to an address in Batavia Mews, SE14. Around 1.32pm, an explosion shattered the scene inside the property, sparking a fierce blaze.
The London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were called in urgently.
Officer Burned, Suspect Arrested for Arson
A police officer suffered burn injuries in the blast and was hospitalised, but his condition is stable and not life-threatening.
Officers arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. The suspect was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
No Terror Link or Drug Manufacturing Found
Authorities have ruled out any terrorist connection. Early inquiries have not uncovered evidence of drug labs at the address.
Investigations continue to piece together what caused the violent chain of events.
