Police Hunt Suspect in Brighton Sex Assault
Officers are appealing to the public to help identify a man wanted in connection with a shocking sexual assault in Brighton.
Woman Attacked in Old Steine Gardens
A woman in her 30s was raped at around 4am on Sunday, 10 December, in Old Steine Gardens. After the attack, she sought help from security staff at a nearby nightclub, who alerted the police. She is now receiving support from specialist officers.
Suspect Description Revealed
Detectives are urgently looking for a man described as:
- Age: 31 to 32 years old
- Height: Approximately 5’10”
- Build: Slender
- Hair: Black, clean-shaven
- Clothing: Dark zip-collar sweater, dark T-shirt, dark jeans, dark shoes
Police Plea for Information
Detective Inspector Jenny Pietersen said: “Detectives have been working round the clock since this incident was reported and we are urgently trying to identify this man as part of the investigation. If you recognise him, noticed anything suspicious that night or have any information or footage that could help, please contact police online or via 101, quoting serial 174 of 10/12.”
DI Pietersen added: “Our officers and partners will maintain a visible presence around Brighton, working closely with licensed venues to keep people safe and respond swiftly to distressing incidents such as these.”
