Arson Alert on Isle of Wight: Three Fires Spark Major Probe

Police and Isle of Wight Fire Service have launched a joint investigation after three fires broke out in open woodland areas over the past week. Firefighters from around the island rushed to tackle blazes near Parkhurst Forest, with two confirmed as deliberate acts.

Deliberate Fires Raise Alarm

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service revealed that of the three recent fires, two were started intentionally. The third fire’s cause is still suspicious but not yet confirmed. The dry, scorching weather has made conditions ripe for fires to spiral out of control quickly.

Danger to Lives and Property

The service warned that any open flames in this heat threaten both lives and property. They urged locals to stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour immediately to help stop more fires.

Stay vigilant. Report anything suspicious.
