A hardy crew from BBC South East has smashed a gruelling 61-mile walk across Kent and Sussex, all to raise cash for Children in Need.
Pudsey Pier-to-Pier Challenge Takes on Kent and Sussex
The challenge kicked off from Gravesend’s Town Pier on Monday, launching a five-day trek down to Eastbourne Pier. This wasn’t just a stroll – the route sliced through wild north Kent countryside before hitting Tunbridge Wells, then pushed on through East Sussex.
Cross-Country Route Highlights
- Starting Point: Gravesend Town Pier
- Traversed: Remote Kent countryside
- Passes: Tunbridge Wells, Mayfield, Heathfield
- Follows: Iconic Cuckoo Trail
- Finish Line: Eastbourne Pier
Charity Goal: Raising Big Bucks for Children in Need
The trek formed part of a nationwide drive to get people active for great causes. The annual BBC One Children in Need appeal smashed expectations, raking in over £35 million in donations.
The live three-hour TV show crowned the campaign by announcing a staggering total of £35,273,167 raised this year alone.
