Tragic Stabbing in Bexley: Victim Named as Ben Lines
Detectives probing a fatal stabbing in Bexley have named the victim and arrested a third suspect. Officers rushed to Barnehurst Avenue at 2.48pm on Sunday, 13 October, after reports of a street fight between males.
Paramedics found a man with a stab wound to his chest. He was rushed to an east London hospital but sadly died at 5.27pm.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Ben Lines from Belvedere, Kent. His family has been informed and is devastated.
Three Teenagers Arrested Over Deadly Attack
- A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on 15 October and later bailed to return to the police station.
- Another 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder after attending a south London police station on 14 October. He remains in custody.
- A 17-year-old was also arrested on 14 October at a Dartford address on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Det Chief Insp Mark Cranwell, leading the Met’s Specialist Crime (Homicide) unit, said: “A young man has been stabbed to death on a Sunday afternoon in the street, and now a young man’s family have been left mourning and looking for answers.”
He urged anyone with information or who witnessed the stabbing to come forward, especially anyone with dashcam footage around the time of the incident.
“You can answer the questions that are being asked by a grieving family by calling police and telling us what you know,” he added.
