Police Hunt Thugs After Brazen Portsmouth Burglaries Target Elderly
Two Elderly Victims Targeted in Portsmouth Flats
Police have released CCTV images of two suspects following a pair of disturbing burglaries in Portsmouth. Around 10pm on Thursday, 6 June, two offenders broke into a flat on Simpson Road. Inside, they shoved past an 87-year-old man and tried to steal his TV – but fled empty-handed.
Second Raid Leaves 86-Year-Old Woman Robbed
Less than 30 minutes later, around 10.30pm, the same duo struck again, breaking into a flat on Twyford Avenue. An 86-year-old woman scared them off, but not before they made off with cash, a gold watch, and a gold ring adorned with three white stones.
Police Appeal for Help Identifying Burglars
“These were despicable and cowardly acts against two vulnerable people who have been left very unsettled,” said PC Nick Jackson. “We’ve released CCTV images of two people we want to speak to.”
“The images are a bit blurred, and one offender has their back to the camera, but someone might recognise them by their clothing or posture. If you saw anything suspicious that night, please come forward.”
