Caught on CCTV: Police Hunt Racist Thugs After Shocking Folkestone Assaults
Kent Police have released CCTV images of three men wanted in connection with a brutal attack on Folkestone’s Leas and Sandgate Esplanade. The pair of linked incidents happened around 5.30pm on Monday, 20 June 2022.
Heroes Intervene, Then Get Attacked
A man and woman stepped in after spotting three men hurling racial abuse at passersby along The Leas. When the man confronted the group, he was assaulted — and to make matters worse, his dog was kicked.
Family Targeted on Beach, Suffer Assault
Not far away, a family relaxing by the Sandgate beach were also racially abused. The thugs reportedly threw stones and launched attacks, with one family member needing hospital treatment for kicks and punches.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detectives believe these incidents are linked and urgently want anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses with dashcam footage in the Folkestone or Sandgate areas are also urged to help.
