Couple Brutally Attacked After Confronting Reckless Drivers

Hollie Semple and Saoirse Smith have broken their silence after a shocking weekend assault that left Saoirse seriously injured. The couple, usually private and reluctant to share personal details, felt they couldn’t stay quiet about the terrifying ordeal.

Violent Attack Sparks Outrage

It all went down at around 1:45pm on Saturday. Hollie and Saoirse confronted a gang of four or five men after they almost crashed into them—not once, but twice. The thugs were driving like maniacs in a busy neighbourhood full of children, speeding along pavements and endangering everyone, including their own nephews.

Things quickly escalated. After the confrontation, Hollie was set upon with punches, kicks, hair pulling, and spitting. When Saoirse tried to intervene, the attackers turned on her too.

Attackers Smash Car and Assault Partner

Trying to escape, the couple got back into their car, but the thugs blocked their exit. They jumped out and began kicking and punching the vehicle. The passenger window was smashed with a kick, and a litre bottle of alcohol was hurled straight at Saoirse’s face.

Even after fleeing to Saoirse’s sister’s house, the attackers tried to follow but fled once they saw the damage they inflicted.

Serious Injuries and Lifelong Scars

Saoirse suffered severe injuries to her mouth and chin, losing her two front teeth. She faces permanent scarring from the brutal assault. Hollie described the attackers as “vermin” for thinking such violence is acceptable.

“There are no words to describe how crazy and scary this was,” Hollie said. “Young children witnessed this attack, and only by a miracle no kids were playing outside at the time—otherwise someone could have been seriously hurt or worse.”

This horrific incident is just one example of growing street violence. Hollie warns, “You hear about this kind of behaviour every week—it’s only a matter of time before someone gets killed.”
