Tragic Hit-and-Run Kills Two Cyclists in Cudworth
Emergency services rushed to Royston Road, Cudworth, just after 9 p.m. following a horrific collision on the bridge over Cudworth Parkway.
Two cyclists, 45-year-old Mr Jones and 16-year-old Mr Daines, were struck by a vehicle while riding along Royston Road. Heartbreakingly, both were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled, leaving behind devastation.
Man Arrested and Released; Police Hunt Red Volkswagen Golf
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving but has since been released with no further action.
South Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group is continuing to investigate. They believe the culprit escaped in a red Volkswagen Golf, heading towards Cudworth on Royston Road at the time.
