Delivery Driver Stabbed to Death in Hackney – Family in Tears
A delivery driver was brutally stabbed to death in Hackney in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The victim, named locally as 21-year-old Kaan Aslan, was attacked on his way home from a late shift.
Tragic Scene Outside Victim’s Home
Shocked family members broke down in tears yards from their home, just steps from where the murder took place. Detectives swarmed the area, launching an urgent investigation into the fatal stabbing.
Police Statement and Investigation Underway
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said:
“Police were called at 00:01hrs on Tuesday, 14 November to reports of a stabbing on Monteagle Way, Nightingale Estate, E5. The victim, a 21-year-old man, suffered a chest wound and was treated at the scene but sadly died at 00:15hrs.
His identity is known and next of kin have been informed, though formal identification has not yet taken place. No arrests have been made and inquiries remain ongoing. A crime scene has been set up, with road closures causing local traffic disruption.”
Appeal for Witnesses
The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command is keeping an open mind on the motive. They urge anyone who saw or heard anything near Monteagle Way and the Nightingale Estate around midnight between 13 and 14 November to come forward.
