Woman Stabbed in Brutal Unprovoked Attack at London Fields
Detectives are hunting a knifeman after a woman was viciously stabbed in broad daylight in an east London park. The victim, in her 40s, was attacked at London Fields, Hackney, near the tennis courts entrance on Richmond Road close to Navarino Road junction.
Stabbed While Walking Alone
Police were called at 3:48pm on Saturday, 4 April. Officers and paramedics found the woman with stab wounds to her arm and back. She was rushed to an east London hospital, where thankfully her injuries were not life-threatening.
The victim was walking alone when a man suddenly ran up and stabbed her with no warning. He then fled down Navarino Road. Police, including the Met’s Dog Support Unit, launched a desperate search but failed to catch the suspect.
Suspect Description and Police Appeal
- Black male, around 5ft 8ins tall
- Medium build
- Wearing a red beanie hat, mustard jumper, and grey trousers
Detective Sergeant Justin Franklin said: “This is a shocking unprovoked attack with no apparent motive and it is understandably causing concern in the community. We are working around the clock to catch the culprit and bring them to justice.”
He added: “Residents will see more police patrols in the area. Anyone walking alone should stay alert and report anything suspicious immediately. If you saw this attack or have any information or footage, please come forward now – every detail helps.”
No Arrests Yet – Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
So far, no arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.
