51-Year-Old Arrested in East London

A 51-year-old man was arrested on Monday, 24 April, suspected of five counts of armed robbery. He remains in custody at an east London police station.

Linked Robberies Target Bookmakers Across London

The arrest follows a spate of robberies where staff were threatened with a firearm. The incidents happened at bookmakers in these locations:

  • High Street, Sutton – Monday, 4 April
  • Burnt Ash Road, Norwood Junction – Wednesday, 13 April
  • Burnt Ash Road, Norwood Junction – Monday, 18 April
  • High Street, Lee – Saturday, 23 April
  • Crayford Road, Crayford – Sunday, 24 April

Cash Stolen, No Injuries Reported

Each time, the suspect escaped with cash. Thankfully, no one was injured during the robberies.
