Woman Found Stabbed to Death in Whitechapel Flat
Police were called to Hadfield House, Ellen Street, Whitechapel, at 8.17am on Sunday, 24 January after concerns for a woman’s welfare.
Officers arrived to find a woman, believed to be in her 30s or 40s, unresponsive with multiple stab wounds. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Arrested Over Suspected Murder
A man, thought to be in his 30s, was arrested near the property on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at an east London police station.
Police say the victim and the suspect are believed to have known each other.
Investigation Underway
Detectives from Specialist Crime (Homicide) are leading the investigation. A post-mortem will be arranged soon. Officers are working to formally identify the woman and notify her next of kin.
