Man Brutally Attacked in Islington Robbery – Police Hunt Witnesses
A man was left fighting for his life after a vicious robbery in Islington on Saturday night. Detectives are urgently seeking witnesses to help catch the culprits.
Victim Found Collapsed with Serious Injuries
The 28-year-old victim was discovered collapsed on Burgh Street, N1, at 10:50pm on 11 July. Thieves made off with his wallet and a prized Rolex watch.
He was rushed to a central London hospital by ambulance, where medics found he had suffered a bleed on the brain and a broken jaw.
Police Launch Appeal After CCTV Captures Chase
Investigators reviewed nearby CCTV footage that shows suspects chasing the victim before leaning over him and then fleeing the scene. Unfortunately, the footage is too grainy to identify the attackers.
Police are asking for the driver of a dark-coloured vehicle—possibly a Toyota Prius—that stopped at the scene while the suspects were still present to come forward. The car left before police arrived.
Stolen Rolex Watch Could Help Crack Case
Officers are also keen to hear from anyone offered the stolen Rolex watch for sale. The model is a 11621, serial number 21MN2300.
Detective Constable Alejandra Gomez: “I am very keen to speak to anyone who can provide information concerning the identity of the suspects in this case. Similarly, I ask the driver of the Toyota Prius that slowed to a stop next to the scene to get in touch and tell us what you saw.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, email, or tweet @MetCC quoting reference Cad 798/12Jul.
