Tragic Crowd Surge at London Gig: Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

The Met Police are hunting for photos and videos from the chaotic night of Thursday, 15 December, when a deadly crowd surge rocked a music event in London.

Detective Urges Public to Help Solve Deadly Incident

Detective Superintendent Dave Kennett, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “The effects of this incident were tragic. The surge in the crowd resulted in two deaths and critical injuries to a third person.”

He added, “It is important that we know why the surge happened, for the families of those who never returned home, and for the safety of those who attend music events in the future. If you have anything to share please do get in touch.”

Thousands Witnessed Incident at Nigerian Afrobeats Gig

Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake was set to perform the final show of his London residency that night, packed with thousands of fans. Police believe many of those in the crowd saw the tragic events unfold.

Detective Kennett pleaded, “If you were there please don’t ignore this plea – imagine the families who are struggling to come to terms with their loss and do the right thing, share what you saw with my team who are waiting to hear from you.”

How to Submit Footage and Tips

Investigators are analysing CCTV from the scene but need personal footage to piece together what happened. “Footage shared on social media immediately after the incident showed dozens of people recording what was happening. We know there is a vast amount of material on people’s phones. Sharing that with us would take just minutes.”
