Million-pound blaze guts gambling gear in Paddock Wood fire
Kent Fire and Rescue Service battled a serious fire at an industrial building in Eldon Way, Paddock Wood, in the early hours of the morning. Crews were scrambled at 3.16am to tackle the blaze.
Massive fire team tackles gambling gear inferno
Six fire engines, a bulk water carrier, and a height vehicle were deployed to the scene. Firefighters, decked out in breathing apparatus, doused the flames using four main jets and water from nearby hydrants. The height vehicle doubled as a water tower to reach the higher parts of the blaze.
The fire has been brought under control, but not before damaging gambling equipment estimated to be worth around £1 million. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
Residents urged to stay indoors as fumes linger
Nearby residents have been warned to keep windows and doors firmly shut as crews continue working throughout the day. Firefighters are expected to remain on site for some time, ensuring the fire is fully extinguished and the area is safe.
Cause of the blaze remains a mystery
The origin of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.
