Police Dive Teams Search Highgate Pond in Robert Duff Murder Probe
Police are diving deep in a Highgate pond, hunting for the body of Robert Duff, missing since 2013. New information has prompted officers to scour the water in a desperate bid to crack the case.
Mystery Deepens After Robert Vanishes Without a Trace
Robert Duff, now 45, vanished without warning on 12 January 2013. He never showed up to his daughter’s 18th birthday party – a move that baffled and worried his family. Concerned, they alerted the police. Officers forced entry into his flat but found no sign of him. After a day with no word, Robert was officially reported missing.
His disappearance was totally out of character, sparking relentless police appeals over the years. In 2018, a breakthrough led to a murder investigation.
Detectives Desperate for Answers
“My team remains committed to finding Robert and providing the answers that his family are so desperately longing for,” said Detective Inspector Tom Williams.
“Following previous appeals, information came forward that led us to search the No1 pond in Highgate. This search will continue over the coming weeks.”
“This is an incredibly distressing time for Robert’s family. If anyone knows anything about where Robert is or what happened to him, please come forward.”
“Not knowing what happened is a torment no family should endure. Help give Robert’s family the closure they deserve.”
Suspects Arrested but Later Released
On 14 May 2018, police arrested two men aged 70 and 51 in Archway, London, on suspicion of murder. Both were questioned at a north London station but later released under investigation.
