Teen Murder Shakeup in Woolwich: 18-Year-Old Arrested After Stabbing
Tragic Stabbing on Woolwich Common
Detectives have swung into action after a teen was fatally stabbed in Greenwich. Police rushed to Academy Road, near Shooters Hill in Woolwich, at 3.28pm on Sunday 15 March following reports of a man with stab wounds.
Officers and paramedics found the 18-year-old victim in the Woolwich Common area. Despite desperate efforts by passers-by and emergency crews, he died at the scene.
Arrest Made as Murder Probe Intensifies
Specialist Crime South, led by DCI Richard Leonard, launched a murder investigation. By Monday 16 March, police arrested an 18-year-old man in Thamesmead on suspicion of murder. The suspect remains in custody at a south London police station.
While inquiries continue, police say the victim was involved in a collision between his motorbike and a white car. The suspect reportedly got out of the car and stabbed the victim. Officers believe the pair knew each other.

Next of kin have been informed, with a post-mortem scheduled at Greenwich Mortuary on Tuesday 17 March. Police urge anyone with information, video footage, or images related to the incident to get in touch.
