Three Men Arrested Over North London Stabbing Murder
An 18-year-old man walked into a north London police station on Monday, 8 November, and was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The following day, Tuesday 9 November, two more men were arrested on suspicion of the same crime: a 21-year-old at an address in Tower Hamlets and a 28-year-old elsewhere. All three remain in police custody.
Tragic Death of Mohammed Aqil Mahdi
The investigation began after officers were called to Navigation Road, Tower Hamlets, at 8.43am on Saturday, 6 November. London Ambulance Service reported an unresponsive man found with stab wounds.
Emergency teams discovered Mohammed Aqil Mahdi, 22, from Camden, suffering severe stab injuries. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His grieving family have been informed and are supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination is set to take place.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith said: “The inquiry is progressing, but we are still looking for anyone with information. We need the public’s support to make London a safer place for everyone. You can assist by picking up the phone and telling us what you know.
