Three Women Go Missing on 19-Mile Walk in Teesdale

Julie Newton, Joanne Race, and Lucy Woods, all in their mid-50s, vanished during a 19-mile hike in Middleton-in-Teesdale on Sunday, May 23.

Last Seen Around 10am, Expected Back by Evening

The trio arrived in the area at about 10am to start Walk 23: High and Low Force, Upper Teesdale. They were expected to return by 5.30pm but never showed up.

All are experienced walkers decked out in full gear—boots, maps, and compasses. Julie was spotted wearing all black, carrying walking poles and a backpack.

Police Appeal for Witnesses
