Stolen Dog Found Safe After Public Plea in Bournemouth

Police in Bournemouth have rescued a stolen Cockapoo after a city-wide appeal. The dog, named Sophie, was snatched on the night of 27 November from The Moon in the Square pub on Exeter Road.

Public Help Cracks the Case

After issuing a CCTV appeal on 8 December, officers received valuable tips from the public. Sophie’s microchip confirmed her identity when she was found alone outside Hamworthy Library on Blandford Road in Poole.

Owner and Police Thank the Community

PC Steve Lea said, “The public’s response has been overwhelming. Without their help, reuniting Sophie with her owner wouldn’t have been possible. It’s fantastic she can spend Christmas at home.”

No arrests have been made yet, but investigations continue. Anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting occurrence number 55160178197. Tips can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org.
