Tragic Fatal Crash on A34 Near Abingdon Claims Young Man’s Life
24-Year-Old Dies in Horror Mercedes Crash
Police rushed to the scene yesterday after a white Mercedes E63 AMG careered off the A34 near Abingdon. At around 9.15 a.m. on January 3, the 24-year-old driver lost control northbound between Marcham Interchange and the Faringdon Road overbridge. The car smashed into an embankment before coming to a deadly stop on the overbridge.
Driver Dies at Scene – No One Else Hurt
The driver, an Oxfordshire man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Luckily, nobody else was in the vehicle, and no other injuries were reported. Thames Valley Police confirmed no arrests have been made as they launch a full investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
PC Ruan Brink of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing at Abingdon police station said:
“First and foremost, my thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who tragically died as a result of this collision. In this extremely difficult time, his next of kin are being offered assistance.”
He added, “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward. If you have dashcam footage that may show the moments leading up to or during the crash, please review it and contact police.”
The investigation continues as Thames Valley Police seek vital information to understand what caused this fatal loss.
