Deliberate Van Crash in New Cross Leaves Woman Seriously Injured

Hit-and-Run Shocks New Cross

Police are hunting witnesses and dashcam footage after a shocking hit-and-run in New Cross left a woman with lasting injuries. The incident happened just after 2pm on Monday, 10 February, on Milton Court Road, SE14. A woman in her 30s was struck by a van that fled the scene. Authorities have since recovered the vehicle.

Victim Hurt but Stable, Police Treat Crash as Intentional

Emergency teams, including the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service, raced to the scene. The woman was rushed to hospital. While her injuries aren’t life-threatening, officers confirmed she faces long-term damage from the collision.

“At this stage, we are treating this incident as a deliberate act and need to understand exactly what happened in the build-up and aftermath,” said Detective Sergeant Jack Mounstephen of the South East Command Unit.

“Were you in the area of Milton Court Road between 2:00 PM and 2:25 PM on Monday, 10 February? Did you see what happened? No matter how small the detail, please get in touch immediately.”

The police have also urged local drivers to check dashcam recordings for any footage of the crash.

Two Men Arrested – One Charged with GBH

  • A man has appeared in court facing charges of grievous bodily harm and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
  • A 46-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but has been bailed pending further enquiries.

It’s unclear if the victim knew the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

Local resident Angela Carter said, “It’s shocking to hear something like this happened in broad daylight on a quiet road. We hope she recovers fully and those responsible are caught.”
