Late Night Lifeboat Launch On June 13

Speedboat Found Partially Sunk

At 11:30pm the same night, the crew was paged again to investigate reports of a floating object. Arriving on scene, they discovered a small speedboat half-submerged in the water. After confirming no one was missing, the crew towed the stricken vessel back to the lifeboat station for recovery. Once safely docked, the boat was refuelled and prepped for the next call.

Multiple Calls on June 14

Just after 1pm on Tuesday, June 14, the crew were paged once more. Reports of an object in the sea sent them back out, but it turned out to be a harmless fishing marker buoy. The call was quickly ruled a false alarm, and the lifeboat returned to base.

Emergency Near Belle Tout Lighthouse

At 2:40pm, the team hurried out again to support police, local coastguards, and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter with an incident east of the iconic Belle Tout Lighthouse. Details of this call have not yet been disclosed.

Eastbourne RNLI volunteers showed impressive dedication, responding to four separate incidents in less than 24 hours. Their quick action kept the coast safe and proved why these volunteer crews are vital to maritime rescue.
