Emergency crews rushed to Burnetts Lane, Horton Heath, just after 10.20pm on Tuesday. A Toyota C-HR Hybrid careered out of control, smashing into a telegraph pole before darting across the road and ploughing through a wall at The Lillies junction.
Firefighters Rescue Elderly Driver
Brave firefighters helped an elderly man escape the wrecked vehicle. He was quickly handed over to South Central Ambulance Services for urgent care.
Scene Cleared Late at Night
The smashed-up Toyota was towed away around 11.20pm, while police officers cleared the debris from the collapsed wall to reopen the highway.
