Blaze Breaks Out at Derelict Chatham Building – Emergency Crews Rush In

A fierce fire tore through a derelict building on Ordnance Street in Chatham this Saturday evening, sparking a major emergency response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS).

Massive Firefight: Six Engines Battle Flames

The blaze was first reported at 6:29 PM, prompting KFRS to dispatch six fire engines and a height support vehicle to tackle the blaze. Firefighters unleashed high-pressure hose reel jets to douse the flames, bringing the fire under control by 7:42 PM.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, as around 50 people left the building before fire crews arrived.

A KFRS spokesperson confirmed: “The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.”
