Witnesses are being urged to speak up after a shocking crash in Canterbury’s High Street in the early hours of Sunday, July 4.

Between 2am and 2:25am, a blue Renault Clio reportedly slammed into a group of pedestrians near the Guildhall Street junction. The collision came after a verbal altercation.

Two Taken to Hospital, Man Arrested for Assault and Drink Driving

  • Five people were injured in the incident.
  • Two victims were rushed to hospital as a precautionary measure.
  • A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and drink driving and remains in custody.

Police Seek Witnesses and Footage

Kent Police are probing the incident and want anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the blue Clio, or has CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
