A woman was attacked near Exe Street in the Catacombs area around 2 a.m. Police have launched a hunt for the suspect.

The victim was rushed to hospital but has since been released. She is receiving support from specially trained officers.

“We are asking anyone who was in the area of Bartholomew Street West, close to the junction with Fore Street, between 1.30am and 2.15am on Saturday morning to come forward,” said Detective Inspector Stephanie Blundell.

“We’re especially keen to see any dashcam or private CCTV footage from around that time.”

“Expect to see a stronger police presence in the area as investigations continue.”
