Police Targeted in Shocking Bicester Chase as Car Rams Officers

VW Golf and Seat Altera Convoy Sparks Dangerous Pursuit

Police in Bicester are hunting suspects after a terrifying incident on Friday afternoon (7/1) where officers were deliberately targeted by a vehicle. At around 4.30pm, officers tried to stop two cars driving in tandem on Graven Hill Road: a stolen dark blue VW Golf R and a bluey-silver Seat Altera.

The VW had its hazards flashing and was being pushed from behind by the Seat – a bizarre and dangerous sight that soon turned violent.

Seat Rams Officers, Flees Running Red Lights

As the drama unfolded, two suspects fled the VW. One jumped into the Seat (registration DY05ORJ), which then charged straight at two police officers. Thankfully, both cops leapt out of the way just in time to avoid injury.

The Seat then tore through multiple red lights along the A41, racing towards Aylesbury in a reckless escape attempt.

Manhunt Underway After Suspects Split Up

The other suspect ran off on foot toward the Graven Hill Estate, heading specifically for Westacott Road and Roberts Drive.

1 Valley Police have launched an investigation covering assault on police, dangerous driving, and vehicle theft. The stolen VW Golf R has now been recovered, but no arrests have been made.

PC Rachael McCreadie, Incident and Crime Response team, warned: “This was a serious incident, and it was lucky the officers were not seriously injured or killed.”

“We urge anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward urgently. Please call 101 or visit our website quoting reference number 43220009070.”
