Hove Tragedy: Woman Killed in Early Morning Hit-and-Run

Just after midnight, emergency crews rushed to Davigdor Road in Hove following reports a woman had been struck by a car. Sadly, despite paramedics’ best efforts, a woman in her 40s from Hove was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.

Suspect Arrested Over Fatal Collision

A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed the crash happened near the Peacock Industrial Estate at around 12.20am on July 11. Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Brighton on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, plus driving without insurance or a licence. He has since been released on bail while investigations continue.

Davigdor Road Reopens After Early Morning Closure

Davigdor Road was shut for several hours but has now reopened. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. Witnesses can contact officers by emailing [email protected] or calling 101, quoting Operation Divan.
