Human Remains Found Near Hounslow Heath in William Algar Murder Probe
Detectives have made a chilling breakthrough in the hunt for missing 53-year-old William Algar, known as Blaise. During a search near Edgar Road close to Hounslow Heath on Saturday, 11 January, officers uncovered human remains believed to be linked to Blaise.
While formal identification is yet to be confirmed, Blaise’s family has been informed and is receiving specialist support. Police have sealed off the scene and say officers will remain in the area for several days.
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Detective Inspector William White from Specialist Crime said: “This is a significant development in our investigation to establish what happened to Blaise.”
He added: “The search was conducted in a residential area near Hounslow Heath. If you were walking on the heath or noticed anyone carrying anything suspicious, please come forward. We also want to hear from anyone who saw Blaise in November or December last year, especially around the Castlenau shops where he often visited.”

Superintendent Richard Smith from the South West Command Unit acknowledged the impact the murder has had on Barnes and Richmond upon Thames.
“The murder of Mr Algar has caused considerable concern locally. Our officers and the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are working together to solve this quickly. Our thoughts are with Blaise’s family as they face these tragic events,” he said.

- Blaise was first found during a welfare check at his Nowell Road home, SW13, on Friday, 3 January.
- Police launched a murder investigation after a post-mortem confirmed he died from a stab wound to the chest.
