Oil Heist Foiled in Westgate!
Two thieves tried to steal cooking oil from a commercial site on Sea Road, Westgate, but a quick-thinking passerby stopped them cold on July 23, 2022.
Van Loaded, But No Oil Escapes
The culprits began filling their van with containers of cooking oil when a member of the public confronted them. Spooked, the thieves fled without any loot.
Suspect Nabbed Days Later
On July 28, a 21-year-old London man was arrested by Met Police in connection with the attempted theft. He remains in custody as detectives continue their probe.
