After ditching the car near Victoria Street, the 26-year-old suspect disappeared on foot. PD Yankee and his handler scoured the St Radigunds area, following the scent to a business junction at 1 Road and Coombe Valley Road.

The dog found the man hidden under a tree in dense undergrowth. He was immediately arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, and failing to stop for police.

Thanks to PD Yankee’s quick work, a dangerous driver is now off the roads.
