Police swooped on an Old Swan address in Liverpool this morning, Friday 21 May, and struck gold. A 32-year-old Liverpool man was arrested on several charges, including possession of a section 1 firearm and intent to supply class B drugs.
Arrest Made as Investigation Continues
The suspect remains in custody, with police probing deeper. The recovered firearm will undergo forensic tests to see if it’s linked to any crimes. Detectives are on the hunt for more leads to crack down on weapon and drug supply.
Detective Inspector John Fitzgerald said: “The seizure of any weapons or drugs is always a great result as this means they can no longer cause harm in our communities. Thankfully, we have today removed another gun and suspected amphetamine from circulation.”
“I would encourage anyone with any information on drug supply or weapons storage to come forward. The community are our eyes and ears – we must work together to clear our streets of crime and put offenders before the courts.”
