Portsmouth Worker ‘Mitch’ Siwak Crushed to Death at International Port

Tragedy struck Portsmouth International Port on Friday evening when Mieczyslaw ‘Mitch’ Siwak, 34, was fatally crushed between two shipping containers.

Fatal Incident at Flathouse Quay

Police were called at 6:51pm to reports of a serious workplace accident at Flathouse Quay. Mitch, who worked for MMD Shipping Services, was found badly injured at the firm’s Prospect Road site. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect Arrested and Released

Following the tragedy, a 35-year-old man from Sussex was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and theft linked to the incident. He has since been released from police custody pending further investigations.
