Man Brutally Stampede on Outside Pub Leaves Him with Fractured Eye Socket
A 55-year-old man was left battered and bruised after a savage attack outside the Elm Pub on North End Road, W14. Detectives are urgently hunting witnesses to piece together what happened.
Pub Footage Ends in Violence
The drama unfolded shortly after 10pm on Wednesday, 11 July. The pub closed its doors to new customers but allowed those inside to finish their drinks. That’s when trouble started.
The suspect arrived, but was denied entry. Moments later, the victim stepped outside for a cigarette — and was suddenly punched in the face.
Witness Intervenes as Suspect Stomps Victim’s Head
A brave onlooker rushed to help but found the victim being kicked and stamped on. They managed to drag the attacker off before police arrived.
The victim sustained severe injuries, including a fractured eye socket and a deep cut requiring four stitches. First aid was performed at the scene before he was rushed to a central London hospital.
Suspect Arrested but Claims Self-Defence
Police arrested the suspect at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He was taken to a west London police station where he claimed self-defence. He has since been bailed to answer charges in early August.
Detective Constable Natalie Steele said: “Although we have arrested the suspect, we are still really keen for any witnesses to come forward and speak to us, so that we have full account of what happened.”
