A tense four-hour rooftop standoff in Portsmouth ended with the man involved being arrested, police confirmed today.

Standoff Lasts Into Dawn

The man refused to come down, sparking a lengthy stand-off that saw emergency services scramble to manage the situation safely. Negotiators were brought in to talk the man down.

Man Taken Into Custody

After hours of tense negotiation, police finally convinced the man to step down. He was promptly arrested and taken away for questioning.
