Serious assault shocks Portsmouth – cops hunt suspects caught on CCTV
Hampshire police are scrambling to ID two groups involved in a brutal brawl on Festing Road, near the Festing Pub, Portsmouth.
Man in 30s left with life-changing injuries
The fight erupted between 11.15pm and 11.35pm last Saturday night (18 August). Officers rushed to the scene after a call at 11.38pm, only to find a man in his 30s seriously injured and rushed to hospital. He remains there with potentially life-altering wounds.
Suspects vanished before cops arrived
Both groups had scattered before police turned up. Detectives want to track down the men seen in CCTV footage, believing they hold key info to the savage attack.
Detective Constable Sam Jones, Fratton CID, said: “The victim has sustained significant injuries which are being treated as serious and potentially life-changing. This happened in a busy area with lots of people around, and we believe there were many witnesses who left before police arrived.
“We urgently want to identify these men to get to the bottom of what happened. Anyone with info needs to get in touch with us immediately.”
