Woolwich Stabbing Victim’s Condition Improves After Shocking Afternoon Attack
Man Stabbed Near Woolwich Station
A man was stabbed and left fighting for his life near Woolwich station last week. The attack happened around 1:30pm on March 27 in Parry Place, a busy spot lined with shops and businesses.
Emergency services swarmed the scene after receiving reports of the stabbing. The victim, whose identity remains under wraps, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Victim Now Out of Danger, Police Keep Crime Scene Active
The Metropolitan Police have now confirmed the man’s condition has improved and that his life is no longer at risk. Despite this hopeful news, officers have kept a crime scene in place at the junction of Spray Street and Parry Place, cordoning off the area as investigations continue.
Locals Shocked by Rare Woolwich Violence
Shop owner Chinyere Iwunna described the stabbing as a “big shock” to the community.
“It’s a very big shock to everybody. We have not had something like this for a long time. There are lots of police. They closed the road and asked us to go,” said Iwunna. She revealed police even told her to close her shop temporarily due to the incident.
Police Hunt Suspects as Investigation Continues
Despite the victim’s improving condition, no arrests have been made yet. The Met is urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward and help catch those responsible.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 3693/27MAR,” a spokesperson said.
The stabbing has left locals on edge in an area not usually known for violent crime. Police have boosted their presence to reassure residents and support the ongoing probe.
Community Urged to Speak Up
Authorities stress the importance of witness information and encourage anyone uneasy after the attack to approach local officers patrolling the area.
