Man Climbs Bexley Church Roof Sparks Huge Police Rescue
In a nail-biting drama on Monday night, specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Territorial Support Group (TSG) were called to the Old Baptist Church on Bourne Road, Bexley. A man had scaled the church roof, sparking a major emergency response.
Massive Police and Fire Brigade Response
The alarm was raised just after 9 pm when reports emerged of a man causing a disturbance atop the historic church. Responding swiftly, 55 police officers and 15 patrol cars descended on the scene. The involvement of the elite TSG, experts in handling risky and riot situations, showed how serious things were.
Fire crews joined the standoff, arriving with vital equipment including an angle grinder. Their help was crucial for safely accessing the roof and aiding in the man’s rescue.
