Met’s Hardest Cop Lands on the Isle of Wight – Criminals Beware!
The sleepy Isle of Wight’s lawbreakers are about to get a shock. From September 26, no-nonsense Met top cop Chief Superintendent Raj Kohli takes charge – and he’s not one to mince words, often calling it like it is on social media.
Raj Kohli: The Met’s Straight-Talking Crimefighter
Raj has spent 29 years cracking down on crime across London. Known for his blunt honesty, he’s turned his last borough into one of the Met’s best-performing, proving he’s a man who gets results.
Starting his career in 1992, Raj quickly climbed the ranks. By 1999 he was Inspector, then Detective Inspector running proactive operations in Brent. Promotions followed – Chief Inspector in 2006, Superintendent leading Camden’s fight against gangs and youth crime, and eventually Chief Superintendent in 2015, commanding Hounslow.
Olympic Policing Hero and Award-Winning Leader
Raj played a vital role in policing the London 2012 Olympics, overseeing all events across 16 boroughs south of the Thames. His hard work earned him top honours: a finalist spot in the 2009 Asian Woman Magazine Awards and the 2014 British Indian Award for Best in Civil Services and Armed Forces.
He’s also the highest-ranking Sikh officer in the Met, a badge of pride and leadership.
Next Stop: Isle of Wight Under New Command
Now Raj is ready for his biggest challenge yet, taking over the beat from the ferry landing at Cowes. Chief Constable Olivia Pinckney is buzzing:
“We are so looking forward to Raj joining our brilliant @HantsPolice team! You have been warned – the people of the Isle of Wight, officers included, are in for a colourful ride.”
With Raj Kohli on the case, Isle of Wight’s criminals better watch their backs. The Met’s toughest is in town.
