Missing Southampton Woman’s Car Found Abandoned in Hedge End Retail Park

A frantic search is underway after the car of missing 55-year-old Elizabeth Wright was found abandoned in Hedge End Retail Park this morning.

Urgent Search Launched After Car Spotted

Police rushed to Toll Bar Way just after 11:30am following a 999 call from a member of the public who spotted Elizabeth’s black vehicle near the Marks & Spencer car park. Volunteers from Hampshire Search and Rescue quickly set up a base nearby and launched extensive searches around the area.

Specialist Teams and Sniffer Dogs Join Hunt

Hampshire Fire and Rescue water rescue specialists from Hightown also arrived at the scene. Police have combed the nearby Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury’s stores, with sniffer dogs and National Airport officers lending their expertise.

Family Desperate for News

Relatives of Elizabeth Wright have been seen visibly distressed at the scene. The missing grandmother was last seen in Netley Abbey shortly after 5pm yesterday, reportedly in a distressed state.

“If you have any information about Elizabeth Wright’s whereabouts, please call 999 immediately,”
