Vintage Traction Engine Wheel Stolen Near Ashford
Thieves have made off with a unique wheel from a rare 1901 Burrell traction engine in Woodchurch, near Ashford. The front wheel was taken sometime after 7pm on Wednesday, 23 August 2023, leaving vintage machinery fans stunned.
Big Vehicle Needed to Haul Heavy Wheel
Police say the stolen wheel is heavy and would have required a large vehicle—like a van or flatbed truck—to carry it away. Officers urge anyone who spotted suspicious activity in the area around that time to step forward.
