Tragic Fire in South London Kills Four Young Brothers
A 27-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect following a deadly fire at a house in Collingwood Road. The suspect is due back at a south London police station in mid-January as the investigation continues.
Four Kids Die After House Blaze
The heartbreaking blaze unfolded on the evening of Thursday, 16 December. Firefighters, paramedics, and police rushed to the scene just after 7pm. Four young boys were pulled from the burning home but sadly, all died shortly after despite desperate efforts to save them.
While formal ID checks are still pending, police are confident the victims are twins Leyton and Logan Hoath, aged three, and their brothers Kyson and Bryson Hoath, aged four—four young lives cruelly cut short.
Community and Authorities Rally in Support
Family members are receiving care and support from specially trained officers. Chief Superintendent Dave Stringer, overseeing Sutton, Croydon, and Bromley policing, said:
“The thoughts of everyone at the Metropolitan Police are with the family and friends of the four young boys who lost their lives in this tragic incident.”
“This will be a huge shock to the local community. We’re here to offer whatever support we can.”
“Detectives are working alongside the London Fire Brigade to find out what sparked the fire and to investigate all relevant matters.”
“We’re also working with local authorities and residents to help everyone come to terms with this terrible loss.”
