Car Crime Spree Rocks Kent Overnight
Kent Police woke up to reports on Monday, 5 February 2024, that cars had been tampered with overnight across Essex Gardens, Kent Gardens, and nearby spots.
Thieves Hit Multiple Locations
High-value motor vehicles were also targeted in Dane Road and King’s Road, Birchington. Inside the vehicles, thieves rummaged through belongings, making off with cash, a vehicle log book, glasses, and a garage controller.
Among the stolen goods was a set of work tools valued at around £600.
Suspects Description
- Two young white men involved.
- First suspect wore a red hooded top, black jacket, black tracksuit bottoms with fluorescent stripes and a grey panel, plus black and white trainers.
- Second had ginger or blonde hair and sported a black puffer jacket, grey tracksuit, white socks, and black shoes.
Police Urge Vigilance and Offer Tips
“Thieves who steal from motor vehicles are opportunists,” said Community Safety Unit Inspector Jim Woodward. “Take simple precautions to protect your property.” “Remove all valuables overnight, lock doors, fully close windows, and park in garages or well-lit, secure areas where possible. Also, wipe away suction marks if you have a satnav.”
Officers are appealing for anyone with information, including doorbell footage or CCTV from the night, to come forward.
