Murder Investigation Underway After Teenage Boy Stabbed to Death in Stratford
Police have launched a murder probe following the shocking stabbing of a teenage boy in Stratford.
Brutal Stabbing Shakes Stratford Community
Officers were called to Byford Close in Stratford late on Tuesday evening after reports of a fight in progress. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the teenage victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eyewitness Reports Heated Argument Before Attack
A local resident, speaking anonymously, revealed that an argument broke out in a nearby park before the fatal stabbing occurred.
Police Investigate While Borough on High Alert
A Met Police spokesperson said:
“A murder investigation has been launched after a teenage boy was fatally stabbed in Stratford yesterday evening. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended following a report of a fight at 18:45hrs on 3 September.
“Despite the best efforts of medics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed and are being supported. A post-mortem and formal identification will be carried out in due course. No arrests have been made so far, and officers remain at the scene.”
Section 60 Orders Imposed Across Newham
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime team are leading the investigation. A Section 60 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act has been implemented across Newham until 12:30hrs on 4 September, giving police enhanced powers to stop and search anyone in the area.
