Angelique Foster’s victory marks a major change after Dhindsa’s five years in office. The former PCC had been at the helm since 2016 but couldn’t hold on against Foster’s strong campaign.
Chief Constable Welcomes New PCC
Chief Constable Rachel Swann praised the election result and looked forward to working with Foster. She said:
“I look forward to working with Angelique following the announcement that she is to be Derbyshire’s new Police and Crime Commissioner. The PCC’s role of governance, scrutiny, budget setting, and working with partners and local communities is crucial and I know this is important to Ms Foster.”

The Chief Constable also paid tribute to Hardyal Dhindsa, thanking him for his dedication and passion. Swann added:
