Nine Dead as Terror Strikes London Bridge and Borough Market

Three terrorists have been shot dead after a deadly rampage on London Bridge and Borough Market last night. Six innocent victims were killed and 30 injured, including an off-duty British Transport Police officer.

Chaos Erupts in South London

At 10:08pm, reports flooded in that a vehicle had ploughed into pedestrians on London Bridge. The attackers then sped to Borough Market, where they exited the vehicle and began stabbing people at random. An on-duty British Transport Police officer, responding to the scene, was seriously injured but is expected to survive. His family have been informed.

Quick Police Response Ends Attack

Armed officers were on the scene within eight minutes. They confronted and shot dead the three male suspects in Borough Market. The terrorists appeared to be wearing explosive vests, later confirmed as fake.

Emergency Services Tackle Crisis

The Met, British Transport Police, City of London Police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade are all actively managing the situation. Six hospitals are treating at least 30 casualties from the attacks.

“We are treating this as a terrorist incident and a full investigation is underway,” said Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley. “We are asking the public to avoid London Bridge and Borough Market to allow emergency services to do their work.”
