London Terror Attack: Nine Dead, 30 Injured After Horror on London Bridge and Borough Market

Three terrorists have been shot dead after a brutal attack on London Bridge and Borough Market last night left six innocent victims dead and 30 injured, including an off-duty British Transport Police officer.

Chaos on London Bridge

At 10:08pm, eyewitnesses reported a vehicle ploughing into pedestrians on London Bridge. The van then sped on to Borough Market, where the attackers jumped out and launched a stabbing rampage.

An on-duty British Transport Police officer responded to the chaos and was seriously injured but his life is not in danger. His family has been informed.

Quick Police Response Takes Down Terrorists

Armed officers confronted the three male attackers within eight minutes of the first emergency call. The terrorists were shot dead in Borough Market. They were wearing what appeared to be explosive vests – luckily proven to be fake.

The Metropolitan Police lead a joint operation with British Transport Police, City of London Police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade.

Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley urged the public to avoid London Bridge and Borough Market while emergency services continue to manage the aftermath.

“This is being treated as a terrorist incident. The full investigation is underway. We ask anyone with photos or videos to upload them at ukpoliceimageappeal.co.uk,” he said.

The Met will boost patrols across the city in coming days. Anyone spotting suspicious activity should call 999 immediately.
